Republicans Push for Stricter Voting Laws

This week, over on the Election Central Web site we examine the Republican Party’s continuing efforts to change identification methods used during the act of voting. Some say that this is an attempt to prevent supposed instances of voting fraud. Others claim that this is an effort to suppress voters who are opposed to Republican Party political goals.

In the weeks following his election, President Trump alleged that millions of people had voted against him illegally. So far, no evidence of any such widespread voter fraud has been discovered. However, many state lawmakers have begun introducing legislation to tighten voter requirements. Here, we take a look at the possible impact of these restrictions.
